Laquon Treadwell is the newest member of the Vikings organization after they drafted the Mississippi wide receiver with the 23rd overall pick.

Treadwell, who was one of the prospects who visited Winter Park earlier this month, said that he was surprised that he lasted that long Thursday night. But in the end, the 20-year-old believes he "fell to the right spot."

"It's been a blessing and it's been a long journey to get to this point and I'm just honored to be part of the Minnesota organization," Treadwell said.

Treadwell said he got a good vibe from the Vikings on his visit to Winter Park, especially so during a private conversation with coach Mike Zimmer.

"From the day I went and visited the Vikings, from the first time I walked in and got off the bus, I knew it was a first-class organization. The men in that building really hold themselves to a high standard and they just do things the right way," he said. "[Zimmer] really got personal with me. He told me if I was there at No. 23, they were going to draft me. I ended up being there."

Treadwell already has a friendship with wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Now he is looking forward to forming a bond with quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

"It's a great opportunity," Treadwell said. "He's a great quarterback and I only think he is going to get better. I always hear great things about him."
