Navigating clogged roads and skies with kids in tow brings its own challenges. These products can help: WHEELED CHILD'S LUGGAGE BY TRUNKI

$40. Available at Elante Luggage and Leather Goods at the Mall of America and online at sites including trunki.net.

Kids can either pull or ride on this, their very own piece of wheeled luggage. It opens into two bare-bones, hard-plastic halves and comes in bright colors. Little hands should find it fairly challenging to open the case or to unclip the carrying strap, which, I believe, is a good thing.

PRONTO PORTABLE DIAPERING KIT BY SKIP*HOP

$30. Available at stores including the Baby Collection in Minneapolis and Pea Pods in St. Paul, and online at sites including skiphop.com.

Skip*Hop makes nice parenting products that mix fashion and function. This kit is slim, yet offers two interior compartments big enough to hold necessities -- a few diapers, wipes and lotion -- as well as an exterior zippered pocket for grownup stuff. The plastic-coated trifold changing pad has just enough cushion to take the edge off a hard surface. The pad zips free from the kit, which comes with a wipes case. The whole caboodle can be attached to a stroller or suitcase.

CLEANWELL ALL-NATURAL HAND SANITIZER

$3 for a 1-ounce, nonaerosol spray. Available at natural foods stores including Whole Foods in the Twin Cities, and online at sites including cleanwelltoday.com.

The added stress makes it pretty easy to get sick during travel. This new alcohol-free sanitizer uses a patented, all-natural, kid-safe blend of essential plant oils, in particular thyme, to kill 99.99 percent of germs that make you feel bad. It comes in lots of travel-friendly sizes, and wipes, too. I like the 1-ounce nonaerosol pump, which offers roughly 200 sprays.

GO GAMES BY MAGNETIC POETRY

$9. Available at stores including Melange in White Bear Lake and Wonderment in Minneapolis, and online at sites including magneticpoetry.com.

I like these particular magnetic travel games because they zip shut and sport a carrying strap. Plus, the 10 games -- including tic-tac-toe, hangman, dominoes, chess and sudoku -- suit a range of ages. Try Travel Bingo to engage kiddos in the passing scenery.

ME TOO PORTABLE HIGH CHAIR BY PHIL&TEDS

$50. Available at stores including Pacifier in Minneapolis and Baby Grand in St. Paul, and online at sites including livingincomfort.com.

It's nice to be able to arrive ready for meal or snack time with your own kid chair. This one stands out for travel because its aluminum alloy frame, clad in washable nylon, makes it light (just 2.2 pounds!) yet durable enough to hold up to 40 pounds. Clamps tighten onto tables or countertops and have a built-in buffer to prevent scratches. The seat does not come with a carrying case, as some do, but it does collapse its roughly 12- by 14-inch frame down to about an inch thick.

RINSE & ROLL TRAVEL BIB BY BIBBITY

$13 for two. Available at stores including Baby Grand in St. Paul, and online at sites including leapsandbounds.com.

This adjustable soft-plastic bib travels well. It catches spills, wipes clean, and rolls right up into its own scooped bottom, making it easy to slip into a tote or diaper bag.
