A quick trade update:

According to a source, interest in lefthander Fernando Abad and righthander Brandon Kintzler has picked up considerably over the last 24 hours, and the Twins could move one or both of them soon.

A number of contending teams need lefthanded relief. Abad is 1-3 with a 2.53 ERA in 37 games in a bounce back season after struggling with Oakland last year.

Kintzler was called up in early May, replaced Kevin Jepsen as the closer and has posted a 1.99 ERA with eight saves. He was recommended during the offseason by Wayne Krivsky, the special assistant to the GM.

Both Abad and Kintzler were non-roster invites to spring training that the Twins appear to be on the verge of moving for other assets.

Stay tuned for more updates as the day progresses. It looks like the Twins will make another trade today after moving Eduardo Nunez last night.
