"Toy Story 3" made $109 million its first weekend, and deserved every penny: it's terrific. As is the case with Pixar films, it"s loaded with tiny delights that refer to other Pixar movies, some of which are broad and easily spotted (when you see the Mom's license plate, you know they chose the numbers for a reason, and even the most casual viewer had to recognize the YO on the back of the Pizza Planet truck), some of which are known only to insiders, or people who've memorized the biographical info on everyone connected with the film.

A list of easter-eggs is here, at slashfilm.com. It's probably 1/4th of what's in there; have to wait for the DVD to go frame-by-frame, which you know some people will. You'll also meet "Animal Lovin' Ken" - monkey included!

PS How did they get all the screen grabs?

PPS If you didn't see the ball, don't feel bad - they really hid it this time.
