Tina's turn

Critics and audiences haven't been bowled over by the latest barrage of music biopics. I took HBO's "Vinyl" off the record player several weeks ago. That may explain why I'm hankering for a repeat viewing of "What's Love Got to Do With It," the 1993 film that earned Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne Oscar nominations.

"Super Bowl's Greatest Halftime Shows" has repeated several times since it originally aired in February on CBS, but as far as I can tell, this is the first time you can catch it since Prince's death, which should make footage from his unforgettable 2007 appearance all the more poignant. If the rain-soaked performance didn't move you then, it certainly will now.

The attorneys in "Las Vegas Law," a series that takes you past the waiting room and into the offices of the Clark Country district attorney, have been watching too many tough-guy movies — or are acutely aware that cameras are capturing their every conversation. All too often, the bravado talk takes us away from the fascinating cases, including one in which the team goes after a man accused of causing the deaths of three people on the Strip.
