"The People's List," a weekly countdown of pop-culture happenings and hipsters, stars a limited summer run with actor Jerry O'Connell and former MTV correspondent SuChin Pak reading the numbers out loud. A segment that pays tribute to iconic People magazine covers should make it clear where producers got the title.

Spirits in the night

A small-town sergeant, beset by inexplicable reports, enlists a paranormal team as temporary deputies in "Ghosts of Shepherdstown," a real-life documentary that's a bit more credible — and spookier — than your run-of-the-mill ghost story. Despite the investigators' credentials, I couldn't help but think that what this West Virginia burg really needs is the fighting spirit of Barney Fife.

Get your motor running

One of the breakout stars of "The Walking Dead" is using his hiatus to hit the road without worrying about the rest area being inhabited by zombies. "Ride With Norman Reedus" invites fans of his Daryl Dixon character to climb into the sidecar as he explores motorcycle culture throughout America.
