What's in a name

Despite having names that sound like two famous golfers, comedians Adam Scott and Jon Daly failed to wrangle an invitation to the Masters. They lick their wounds by participating in the "Adult Swim Golf Classic," a decidedly amateur event that is inexplicably set in 1966. Winners get a chance to give to their favorite charity and book a cameo in "Caddyshack XI: Sharks in the Sandtrap."

Love for sale

Steven Soderbergh takes his relationship with television to the next level with "The Girlfriend Experience," a TV show loosely based on his 2009 feature film. Soderbergh only serves as the executive producer here, but he has given showrunners Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz free rein to experiment. The cinema's loss is once again TV's gain.

Tumblin' Dice

"Dice," a halfhearted roll at a comeback for comedian Andrew Dice Clay, left, tries to capitalize on the hot trend of celebrities poking fun at their public images. But Clay never really commits to image mockery, somehow holding onto the fantasy that "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" is considered a cult classic. A PG version of the first episode is available for nonsubscribers online.

Mother and child reunion

"Nothing Left Unsaid: Gloria Vanderbilt and Anderson Cooper" gives the CNN anchor one of his juiciest, and most emotional assignments: interviewing his complicated mom. Cooper does a good job of navigating through her rich life, which included being part of a famous custody case, dating Frank Sinatra and designing jeans, but he can barely hold it together as the two sort through the suicide of his beloved brother. Hard to blame him.
