Fantastic Mr. Fox

The best author of challenging children's stories is feted in "The Genius of Roald Dahl." The film has a decidedly British flavor with personalties David Walliams, Joanna Lumley and Michael Rosen, ignoring the fact that the most successful of his screen adaptations starred Americans. Would it have killed Johnny Depp to take a break from playing guitar hero to share his thoughts on being Willy Wonka?

Against all odds

"The Odd Couple," Matthew Perry's upteenth attempt to mine sitcom gold after "Friends," returns for a second season, to the delight of absolutely no one, aside from the descendants of Laverne and Shirley, who see dating potential in this modern-day take of Felix and Oscar. Perhaps its time for Perry to take a cue from his famous co-stars who have discovered more success with edgier fare on cable.

7:31 p.m. WCCO, Ch. 4

Idol worship

Almost every past winner from "American Idol" is scheduled to appear on the series finale, which must somehow find time from wandering down Nostalgia Lane to squeeze in a coronation of a new champ. Emotions are sure to run high, which means a hand-slapping fight between Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard isn't totally out of the question.
