This is the final day to register to vote online at mnvotes.org, which Minnesotans can do until 11:59 Tuesday night.

More than 73,000 Minnesotans have either registered to vote or updated their existing registration in the past 24 hours, a one-day feat that shatters the previous record of 27,000, according to Secretary of State Steve Simon.

Simon attributed the surge to a reminder posted to Minnesotans' Facebook feeds Monday evening.

Voters can still register to vote at their polling place on Election Day, Nov. 8, if they have not done so.

Minnesota has more than 3.2 million registered voters, but there are an additional 800,000 eligible voters who have not yet registered, according to the Secretary of State.

Voter registration applications are also available at every state agency, all 87 county offices and online in English, Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Vietnamese, Russian, Chinese, Lao, Oromo, Khmer, Amharic, and Karen. To request an application in an alternative format such as Braille, please call 1-877-600-8683.
