Today feels like Black Friday

There are tons of great sales starting today or later this weekend on cashmere, outdoor gear, and clothes for juniors and young men.

Did you see my Steals+Deals today? It's a great list of sales on eyeglass frames, jewelry, greeting cards for $1, original art, candles, gourmet foods and table linens. I ran out of room to include them all so here are several more:

Today only (Thursday, Nov. 19), Lands End is featuring three styles of women's cashmere sweaters (V-neck, scoop and crew styles) for $49.50, regularly $89 to $99. Not bad, huh? The topper is free shipping on the sweaters, again until midnight today only. Worried about the quality at that price? Lands' End still has its admirable unconditional guarantee.

Midwest Mountaineering starts its Outdoor Adventure Expo today and it runs through Saturday, Nov. 22. On the website, click on "join mailing list" and you'll receive an email for 50 percent off coupons during the sale. Coupons include 50 percent off a single item $20 or less, 50 percent off Outdoor Research Pl-400 gloves, and 66 percent off a 1-liter stainless steel water bottle. All winter clothing will be 20 percent off during the sale.

Today is the last day of the Sample It sample sale at the Days Inn in Bloomington. All of the Billabong, Hurley, Volcom, Quiksilver, Nick & Mo items are an additional 25 percent off. Most were at wholesale prices before the discount. It's a great sale for juniors and young men with boardsports, activewear, accessories, purses, bags, backpacks, and hats.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
