SUNDAY

Tipsy Pixels 5: 'Mario Kart 64' Redux

Take a classic video game, throw it on the big screen, add a heaping dose of nostalgia and generous amounts of alcohol and you've got Tipsy Pixels, a monthly video game tourney. Hosted by Nels Lennes from Huge Theater and produced by the guys behind the Minnesota Beard-Off, the night gives you the chance to play your favorite retro gaming systems and face off in a bracketed tournament. Come to compete in this month's game, "Mario Kart 64," for the chance to win prizes, or cheer on your favorite players. Come early to sign up; the $5 entry fee includes a free beer. (7 p.m. Sun. Free. 21 & older. Triple Rock Social Club, 629 Cedar Av. S., Mpls. 612-333-7399.) JAHNA PELOQUIN

NSBG Post-New Year's Eve Party

For the second straight year the NorthStar Bartenders Guild is throwing a belated New Year's Eve bash for all the service-industry folks who worked the letdown-prone party night (or anyone else who digs booze). But this black-tie affair at new art and event space Public Functionary shouldn't disappoint, with $50 tickets including five NSBG-crafted cocktails, appetizers, a champagne toast and more. (8 p.m. Sun. Public Functionary, 1400 12th Av. NE., Mpls. $50. www.nsbarguild.org.)MICHAEL RIETMULDER
