Wolves looking for first Western Conference road win

Wolves update: The Wolves have yet to win any road games against opponents from the Western Conference in nine tries – a trend they are going to have to reverse if they'd like to make the playoffs. The Wolves return to the site of Jimmy Butler's last game with the team and where they lost the final game of an 0-5 road trip in November. Robert Covington returned from a one-game absence to score seven points in Monday's loss to Golden State. Jeff Teague made just one basket, though he did have 11 assists. Karl-Anthony Towns had a season high 39 points in the Wolves' previous meeting with the Kings.

Kings update: The Kings continue to defy odds and stay relevant in the Western Conference standings despite a young roster and tension between the front office and coach Dave Joerger. One of the keys to the Kings' early-season success has been their ability to take care of the ball (they rank ninth in turnover percentage) and are fourth in the league in effective field-goal percentage, which weighs three-pointers as counting 50 percent more than twos. Second-year guard De'Aaron Fox is averaging 18.1 points and 7.5 assists. Former Timberwolf Nemanja Bjelica has started each game for the Kings and is averaging 10.6 points.
