Blazers seeking Wolves' magic

Preview: The Wolves head out on a West Coast road trip feeling better than they did last month, when an 0-5 road trip out west marked the end of the Jimmy Butler era. The Blazers started the season 10-3, but have gone 4-8 since. They broke a three-game losing streak with a 108-86 victory at Phoenix on Thursday despite playing without C.J. McCollum, who missed the game because of a twisted ankle. Portland has struggled in defensive rating during that 4-8 stretch (114.6, 27th in the league).

Players to watch: Wolves G Derrick Rose is shooting 53.7 percent on three-pointers (29-for-54) since Nov. 1. G Jeff Teague is coming off a career-high 18 assists vs. Charlotte and has averaged 10 assists in his past four games. F/G Andrew Wiggins is coming off season highs in points (26), rebounds (six) and assists (five). Portland C Jusuf Nurkic is averaging 14.7 points and 10.6 rebounds.

Numbers: The home team has won nine straight games in the series, with the Wolves losing their past five in Portland. The teams have split double-figure wins this season.

Injuries: Wolves G Jerryd Bayless (knee) is out. Phoenix G C.J. McCollum (ankle) is probable.
