Roseville headed to state

• ROSEVILLE 63, MAHTOMEDI 52: Senior Jesper Horsted scored 27 points to lead the Raiders past the Zephyrs in the Class 4A, Section 4 championship game at East Ridge. Mitch Poss added 13 points as the Raiders earned their first state tournament berth since 1997. Sean Hjelle scored 20 points to lead the Zephyrs, who were bidding for their first state tournament berth since 1961.

• WACONIA 60, MINNEAPOLIS WASHBURN 56: The Wildcats earned their first state tournament berth since 2011 with the victory over the Millers in the Class 3A, Section 6 final at Chanhassen. The Wildcats (16-13), who were 13-13 in the regular season, lost to the Millers 90-63 on Jan. 15.

• ORONO 82, ROCORI 59: Cole Hennings scored 31 points to lead Orono, ranked No. 4 in Class 3A, past Rocori in the Class 3A, Section 5 championship game.

• ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE 66, ROGERS 49: Jackson Greenwaldt scored 19 points and Trevor Rothstein scored 16 to lead the Knights to the Class 4A, Section 8 championship and their first state tournament berth since 2008.

• ESKO 42, BARNUM 28: The Eskomos, the defending Class 2A champion, earned their third consecutive state tournament berth by outlasting the Bombers in the Section 7 championship at Minnesota-Duluth.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL

• PRINCETON 74, HERMANTOWN 43: Jenna Doyle scored 20 points to lead the Tigers to the Class 3A, Section 7 semifinal victory over the Hawks at Duluth Denfeld. The Tigers, who have never appeared in the state tournament, will play Grand Rapids for the section title next Thursday. Grand Rapids defeated North Branch 70-55 in the other semifinal.

• MINNEAPOLIS HENRY 63, BRECK 59: Dariel Lipscomb scored 29 points to help the Patriots outlast the Mustangs for the Class 2A, Section 5 first-round victory. Cecily Hibbs scored 22 to lead the Mustangs, who led by two at halftime.

• COLUMBIA HEIGHTS 69, COMMUNITY OF PEACE 18: Rashonna Thomas scored 16 points to pace the Hylanders to the Class 2A, Section 4 first-round victory.

• CONCORDIA ACADEMY 69, FAIR 18: Senior Michaela Walther's 15 points paced the Beacons' balanced attack in the Class 2A, Section 4 first-round victory.

• NEW LIFE ACADEMY 50, MOUNDS PARK ACADEMY 37: Valerie Hohol scored 20 to lead the Lions to the Class 2A, Section 4 first-round victory.

• HERITAGE CHRISTIAN 80, NORTH LAKES 19: Eighth-grader Taylie Scott scored 15 points to lead the Lions to the Class 1A, Section 4 first-round victory.
