Nikolaj Ehlers recorded his fourth career hat trick and the Winnipeg Jets took over sole possession of first place in the Western Conference with a 5-3 victory over the host San Jose Sharks on Thursday night.
Ehlers' second goal of the game broke a 3-3 tie at 16:53 of the third period. He then added an empty-netter.
Connor Hellebuyck made 41 saves for Winnipeg, which has won six of seven.
The Sharks had won five straight overall and four straight at home.
Toronto 6, Florida 1: Auston Matthews had two goals and two assists, and John Tavares also scored twice for the host Maple Leafs.
Matthews' 18 two-goal games rank second behind only Alex Ovechkin's 19 since Matthews entered the league in 2016-17.
Mitch Marner increased his career assist total to 126, the most by a Leafs player before age 22.
