An 18-year-old Chanhassen woman died at 11:30 p.m. when the vehicle in which she was a passenger crashed in Carver. Carver County sheriff's officers responding to a crash near the 1500 block of Main Street W. found the vehicle in a ditch on the south side of the road. The woman was dead; the male driver was taken to a hospital.
At about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, a 59-year-old Richfield man was killed in that city when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Lyndale Avenue S. near 75th Street. The man, identified Sunday by the Hennepin County medical examiner as David Richmond Pearson, lived nearby, said Richfield police Sgt. Dave Kromschroeder. He was headed west across Lyndale when he was hit by a small SUV. The area did not have a crosswalk. The driver stopped and cooperated with police.
A 19-year-old man from Frazee, Minn., died just after noon Saturday when, driving north on Grant County Road 10 approaching Hwy. 79, he failed to yield and was struck by a truck, the State Patrol said. Logan Hoehne, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from his car. The truck driver suffered noncritical injuries.
