The merging of fashion and art may seem like a novelty for most, but for a select few, it's a way of life. One of the few is noted fashion journalist Margot Siegel, whose personal art collection will be exhibited along with designer fashions from the Goldstein Museum of Design's permanent collection. Art-inspired clothing and clothing-inspired art will be on display, from a Cheap & Chic by Moschino suit covered in the pop-art cartoons of Roy Lichtenstein to lithographs and screenprints by Andy Warhol and Richard Hamilton. It's a must-see for fashion, art and pop-culture fanatics alike. (Opening reception 6-8 p.m. Fri.)

Back in the days before online publishing, there were zines. Well, that lost art is still creeping around all these years later. Now in its sixth year, Twin Cities Zinefest was created to celebrate zine culture and exhibit some of the Midwest's best DIY talent. The two-day event includes more than 45 artists, live music, craft demos, guest speakers, panel discussions and documentary screenings -- including Joe Biel of Microcosm Publishing's "If It Ain't Cheap, It Ain't Punk: 15 Years of Plan-it X Records." (Biel will also host a workshop on zine distribution on Sunday.) Presentation Night, "Minneapolis' own living zine," will distribute a commemorative zine on Saturday.

Not only will fierce-looking boats glide across Lake Phalen during this year's Dragon Festival, but the aromatic cuisine of Asian Pacific islanders will tempt the taste buds of all within smelling distance. The two-day family-oriented event includes dragon boat races, Indonesian music, martial arts and Asian street food demonstrations. Canoe rides, children's craft activities and book signings by local authors are other attractions. (11:30 a.m. Sat.-Sun. Free.)
