Defeat of Jesse James Days

It may seem odd for a town to celebrate an attempted bank robbery, but some back story gives Northfield's annual Defeat of Jesse James Days festival some credence. As the story goes, the citizens of Northfield rose up and defeated the outlaw's gang of eight in 1876 when they attempted to rob the First National Bank of Northfield. In addition to signature re-enactments of the famed incident, other events include a parade, rodeo, square dancing, hog roast, tractor pull, carnival and more. More event details.
