Opening: Madonna was the biggest star in the 1988 Broadway premiere of David Mamet's "Speed-the-Plow." She played a temp in a Hollywood studio in this satire about the entertainment industry. The play has since been staged countless times in schools and community theaters, sometimes to its detriment. Dark and Stormy Productions, an impressive new company that recently joined the professional Equity union, is mounting a production with top-caliber talent in an irregular venue. Sara Marsh, founding artistic director of the company, is playing the temp, while Guthrie regulars Kris Nelson, left, and Bill McCallum fill out the cast, directed by Ben McGovern.
