'Rancho Mirage'

Opens Friday: Old Log Theater launches the regional premiere of this play by Steven Dietz. The former Minnesota-based playwright has written a comedy along the lines of "God of Carnage" or "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf." Three chummy couples peel away the veneer of comity and find that their relationships are based on lies and charades. Kent Knutson directs a very accomplished cast of Joshua James Campbell, Mo Perry, James Denton, Stacia Rice, Ann Michels and David Mann. (7:30 p.m. Fri.-Sat., 2 p.m. next Sun. $16-$35. Ends Dec. 7. Old Log, 5185 Meadville St., Excelsior. 952-474-5951, www.oldlog.com.)
