We had a lull in news last week, but the pace will pick up this week as the Vikings begin their Organized Team Activities on Tuesday at Winter Park.

The Vikings have 14 OTA workouts, all of which are voluntary. Their mandatory minicamp runs June 11-13.

We have media access on Wednesday so we will get an idea of how many veterans are taking part in the OTAs, at least at the start. Remember these are voluntary so it won't be surprising if some veterans elect not to take part or perhaps start later.

We also expect to learn this week whether Kevin and Pat Williams will be allowed to play while they appeal the ruling in the StarCaps case. Hennepin County Judge Gary Larson ruled two weeks ago that the Williams must serve their four-game suspensions, but the players requested an injunction that would allow them to play during the appeals process. Judge Larson will likely rule on that later this week.

Finally, we thought we would get your blood pressure going by mentioning that Sports Illustrated's Peter King rolled out his NFL power rankings in his popular Monday Morning QB column today.

King ranked all 32 teams and he put the Vikings at No. 13. Writes King: "Whether old What's His Name comes back or not will determine Minnesota's fate. Brett Favre or no Brett Favre, the Vikings have an offensive line in decline."

King put the Green Bay Packers at No. 1. Five of the Vikings other opponents this season made King's Top 10 -- Saints (5), Dolphins (6), Jets (7), Giants (9) and Cowboys (10).

King also wrote that he "stinks" at making these kind of predictions. He points out that last season he picked the Bears to make the Super Bowl and had the Saints ranked No. 24.
