It has been brought to my attention that I'm not quite opinionated enough on this blog, which is kinda weird, considering I'm female. Anyway, I love constructive criticism and I always strive to give readers what they want. So here are my views on a few things:

It's incredibly sexy when men don't shave for a few days. Recycling should be mandatory. Tombstone is a cinematic masterpiece. Fresh avocado on whole grain crackers, topped with jalapeno jack cheese is the tastiest snack ever. PBR won a blue ribbon for one reason: it's delicious. And finally, the world is less awesome without Biggie Smalls.

Now back to Minnesota Twins baseball.

The Twins are on a roll right now. They're just headed in the wrong direction after dropping their third straight game to the Texas Rangers Wednesday night, behind yet another satisfactory pitching performance, this time by Brian Duensing. The offense needs to figure out how to get to Ciff Lee Thursday night behind Francisco Liriano to avoid the sweep heading into this weekend's series against the Mariners in Seattle.

The club made a pretty good move Wednesday, claiming Randy Flores off waivers from the Colorado Rockies. The Twins were in desperate need of a lefty out of the bullpen, since Jose Mijares won't be back for a few more weeks and Ron Mahay was moved from the 15-day to the 60-day DL with a torn rotator cuff. Flores more or less fits the bill. His 2-0 record and 2.96 ERA over 27.1 innings doesn't tell the whole story though, as the 35-year-old has allowed 22 hits and walked 13 batters in that span. That's a lot of walks, buddy. And sadly, he isn't all that great against left-handed hitters (a career .428 slugging against him) which is likely who he'd be facing the most. But sometimes, a change of scenery can be all a guy needs, right? Terrific.

On that note, someone had to be sent down to AAA Rochester for some salt and pepper, and it looks like it will be Anthony Slama, not our buddy Jeff Manship. Glen Perkins will stick around as the only other lefty reliever on the roster. You can't always get what you want, I guess.

Also, I meant to bring this up yesterday, but life got in the way: did it seem like maybe Neftali Feliz, after conferring with pitching coach Mike Maddux, intentionally hit Jim Thome in the ninth inning Tuesday night? Am I over-reacting? What would that have accomplished besides the next guy getting called out on strikes anyway? The only reason I wonder is because Jim Jam seemed a bit ticked off, which I suppose is a natural reaction when a 97 mph heater hits any body part... but not quite as angry as when he dropped an f-bomb after his home run was ruled a double in Cleveland a couple weeks ago. Your thoughts on that?

I'd love to hear your opinion on anything else I've mentioned, and of course, everything I haven't. Leave it in the comments, shoot me an email, or send a smoke signal. Or you could just whisper it in my ear at Howie's on Saturday!

Only a few more days until we all get together, eat wings, crush beers (or soda) and watch the Twins play the Seattle Mariners at Howie's Sports Bar & Grill in St. Cloud, MN for the TwinsCentric & Sooze Viewing Party on August 28 at 2:30pm. Not only will there be drink and appetizer specials, but also awesome raffle prizes, including two Twins tickets. For more information on the event, check out and RSVP on the Facebook page, or email me for more details.

After your belly is full and the Twins have had their way with the Mariners, we can head on down to Joe Faber Field (home of the St. Cloud RiverBats) at 7:00pm for the Twins Alumni game, featuring Corey Koskie, Jim Eisenreich, Juan Berenguer, Jarvis Brown, Al Newman, Brian Raabe, Greg Thayer and Ron Davis. Find out more info on that shindig here.

Hope to see you there!
