Last week we learned that CGI Heath Ledger will not be in the next Batman movie; now we learn that Two-Face, aka Aaron Eckhart, will not be in the next movie. Also not in the next Batman movie: Batman. Yes, it's a clean start! Quite the reboot. It's all about Robin. Just kidding. Except for the Two-Face part:

This is probably a good idea. Two-Face was a harrowing character, but there's not much more you can do with him, and they'd have a hard time explaining how half his mug stayed so fresh and infection-free. No, it's more realistic when characters stay dead. Comic books require that bad guys do 11 months in jail or Arkham Asylum, then return for hijinx and mischief when it's their turn to rotate back. Wouldn't work with the New Grim Batman. Granted, Scarecrow did show up in the second Batman movie, but he was small potatoes, and rather pathetic. Wonder how he avoided a long jail term, considering that he gassed half the city. Anyway, as long as no one's talking about Alicia Silverstone coming back as Batgirl, it's all good.
