Everyone -- supporters and opponents -- wants a piece of the Bachmann/Palin action in advance of their Minneapolis rally Wednesday. Here's a survey of some of the messages we've received.

Two weeks ago, President Obama signed a government takeover of healthcare into law. Unemployment remains high, and federal spending continues to increase at an alarming rate. Now, it is more important than ever to protect our nation's founding principles of individual freedom, personal responsibility and the free market by supporting candidates with time-tested conservative principles like Minnesota's own Congresswoman Michele Bachmann.

Today, thousands of you will join me to welcome Governor Sarah Palin to Minneapolis for a rally to salute Congresswoman Michele Bachmann for her leadership.

Michele Bachmann is under attack from extreme liberal activists for standing up for her Constitutional conservative principles. Michele has a proven record of promoting free markets, questioning the encroachment of the federal government, and refusing to accept that government officials in Washington should make decisions for everyday Americans.

Today, Michele Bachmann will host the much hyped event with Sarah Palin in Minneapolis. Tickets to the fundraiser start out at mere hundreds to attend, but reach $10,000 for a photo with the Former Governor and Congresswoman Bachmann. "Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann's 'let them eat cake' mentality is just out of touch with the district and does not serve the interests of the people," Jason Isaacson, Campaign Manager for the Reed Campaign said. "Assembled in Minneapolis today are two of the authors of many of the worst deceptions from the past year's health care debate. Not only are they unrepentant, but they have been emboldened by the national coverage and the year of delays before comprehensive health care reform was past." While Bachmann's political aspirations may have been met, her constituents have not faired nearly as well: Bachmann Voted against extending unemployment benefits:

Last summer, in the middle of the worse economic downturn in decades, Bachmann refused to assist her constituents and voted against unemployment benefits for workers and families.
Bachmann Voted against the Health Care bill that would have:

Allowed 65,000 6^th district young adults the ability to stay on their parent's policy.

"Going beyond the surface and looking at the facts, in the past year, Palin resigned her post as Governor of Alaska, preferring to work for Fox News and travel the country than complete her duty to her constituents. Bachmann, on the other hand, stated recently that in her more than 3 years of representing the people of the 6^th district, she has not had any substantive bills of hers past. In addition, Bachmann has missed more votes than any other member of the Minnesota delegation- a total of 115 since last January alone," Isaacson added. Like peas in a pod, these two darlings of the extreme right wing fringe not only spout the most hateful and incendiary rhetoric in the public discourse today, but are also the faces of the new Republican Party. From these two we have heard nothing but fear and lies - from death panels to warning of a coming apocalypse – and today's rally shouldn't be any different. If these two represent the 'gold standard' of the Republican Party, the only apocalypse the GOP should be concerned with is their own. From the AFL-CIO:

Hours before Governor Tim Pawlenty joins Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin to rally for a return to the failed policies of the last decade; working families will gather in the state capitol rotunda calling on lawmakers to invest in Minnesota, help create family-sustaining jobs, and make taxes fair for the middle class. "On April 7^th there will be two rallies with two distinct visions for Minnesota's future," said Shar Knutson, President of the Minnesota AFL-CIO. "We can either invest in Minnesota and make our state work again or follow the Palin/Bachmann/Pawlenty path and watch the rich continue paying less in taxes than middle class families while our communities suffer." The noon rally in the rotunda will feature remarks from national AFL-CIO Secretary Treasurer Liz Shuler, Congressman Keith Ellison, Congresswoman Betty McCollum, state labor leaders, and rank and file working people. Many attendees will meet with lawmakers to stress the need to take a balanced approach to the budget crisis, including raising revenue through making the tax system fairer to the middle class.
