'Lovely' marketing "The Lovely Bones," originally aimed at an older, literary-minded audience, has blossomed at the box office after the movie was re-targeted to the "Twilight" set. With early screenings showing that Peter Jackson's film resonated with young girls, Paramount abandoned plans for a December awards campaign and revamped its focus, altering its advertising and attaching a trailer to "New Moon." The film's wide release last week, timed just before the MLK holiday, was deemed a rousing success; it earned $20.5 million, for third place, with an audience that was 72 percent female and 40 percent under 20.

The final reel Matt Damon and Brad Pitt will voice characters in "Happy Feet 2." ... Disney has asked Tim Burton to direct "Maleficent," a revisionist "Sleeping Beauty." ... Megan Fox bonds with down-and-out jazz trumpeter Mickey Rourke in "Passion Play." Bill Murray plays what's being billed as the villain, a gangster who tries to keep them apart. Sounds like a hero to us.
