Healing power of plants

There's no doubt that plants and animals can contribute to human health and well-being. The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum's "Nature Heals Conference 2013" explores the human-nature connection with speakers, performances and storytelling, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 15, 3675 Arboretum Dr., Chaska. The conference is a partnership between the arboretum and the University of Minnesota Center for Spirituality and Healing. Cost is $85 through Thursday; $95 after Feb. 28 and $250 for a two-day pass, including a VIP reception with conference speakers and authors on March 14. Hanging basket parties

Gertens experts will help you design a hanging basket and then care for it for you until spring. Home and Garden Show

Get a jump start on your lawn and garden at the Minneapolis Home and Garden Show, which opens today and continues through Sunday at the Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 2nd Av. S.
