The brrrrr-eautiful game

Soccer is the world's beautiful game, but it's not often played professionally in the 28-degree weather that's expected Sunday afternoon at TCF Bank Stadium. The MLS games with temperature below 30 degrees F (home team listed first):

Temp.DateMatchResultLocation

29: April 4, 2007; Colorado vs. D.C.; COL W 2-1; Dick's Sporting Goods Park

25: March 26, 2011;Toronto vs. Portland; TOR W 2-0; BMO Field

20:Dec. 7, 2013; Kansas City vs. RSL; D 1-1; Children's Mercy Park

Snow on the pitch: Eight MLS regular-season games have experienced snow in the league's 20-year history, and five of them involve games with Colorado. The last time was April 16 of last year, when Colorado defeated New York 2-1.
