You just knew the Chalice had to be there this year. At the annual Voltage: Fashion Amplified show, that is, which will return June 8 to First Avenue with the always colorfully attired women of the hip-hop trio Chalice atop the music lineup along with Aby Wolf's Wolf Lords (with ex-Lookbook music man Grant Cutler), rapper Sean Anonymous with instrumental freak-rock band Dreamcrusher for his backers, plus teenage rockers Bomba de Luz.

As always, the performing musicians will be specially dressed for their performances by participating fashionistas, with this year's duds provided by local boutiques. Models will also be walking a runway, with apparel provided by the likes of Danielle Everine, Lindsey Hopkins, CounterCouture, deLange Designs, Punkktual and others (how is the latter not a band name instead?), plus accessories from Larissa Loden, Made by Liz P., Aprilierre and others.

Advance tickets are $28 and on sale via First Ave outlets. The show, which dates back to 2005, is a fundraiser for the buy-local nonprofit MNfashion.
