Yes, Martin Freeman, who appeared in the original British "Office," has been named as Bilbo in the "Hobbit" movie. Is it too soon to call it the "troubled Hobbit movie"? Not to say it's full of troubled Hobbits. But it's got a huge budget and production problems, and there's the whiff of disaster in the wings. But. Peter Jackson is a fine director, even if the third LotR was too long - look, just throw the ring, keep the ring, I don't care, but DO SOMETHING. The casting for this one seems right. But when you read some plot summaries, you're reminded why some people used to hide their enjoyment of Tolkien, lest the mean kids make fun of them:
