TFD: The fantasy implications of post-game sacks

A play on Sunday was changed to a sack for the Vikings' Kevin Williams instead of a rushing loss for Ben Roethlisberger. We're guessing that scoring tweak will change a few fantasy outcomes.

From the AP:

Ben Roethlisberger can get sacked even during an off week. A scoring change has given the Minnesota Vikings an additional sack of Roethlisberger during Pittsburgh's 27-17 victory on Sunday. Roethlisberger was sacked four times, giving him 20 for the season. A play in which Roethlisberger was initially given a 1-yard loss on a run has been changed to a sack by Minnesota's Kevin Williams.

It's a subtle change, but we have to wonder if just that little tweak will alter a few fantasy outcomes. Some leagues give defensive points for sacks (Stensation, who sent us the story, gets 1 point for a sack in his league) ; other "fraction leagues" give 0.1 points per rushing yard (again, that's how Stensation's league works). Considering the Vikings defense and Roethlisberger were likely active in quite a few leagues, we're guessing there are some pretty irate (and elated) fantasy owners right now.
