GAME RECAP

MVP

Matt Mooney, Texas Tech

While Gonzaga swarmed Tech star Jarrett Culver into a poor shooting performance, the transfer from South Dakota was masterful, hitting outside shots, converting difficult drives and dishing the ball when double-teamed.

Turning Point

After Gonzaga hit a three-pointer to make it 58-58, Mooney hit a reverse layup and guard Davide Moretti stole the ball and hit a three-pointer. Texas Tech led the rest of the way.

By the numbers

14 Points scored by Gonzaga's best-in-nation offense in the first 10 minutes.

3 Shots made by Culver on his first 10 attempts.

2 Foreign-born players in the starting lineups — Gonzaga's Rui Hachimura of Japan and Texas Tech's Davide Moretti of Italy.

3-0 Texas Tech's all-time record against Gonzaga, including a 2005 NCAA tournament victory.

1 Final Four qualifications in Texas Tech history, same as Gonzaga.
