TEENS IN TUNE WITH SOUR ECONOMY

The economic crisis has teens worried not only about their own families' finances, but also about what it means for the country. An online poll of 500 U.S. teens by the Michael Cohen Group, a New York-based research firm with expertise in families and youth, found nine of 10 respondents believe the current economic crisis would negatively impact the United States. Among other findings:

•68 percent of teens in the sample say the current economic situation would have immediate negative impact on them and their families.

•58 percent are very concerned about their family finances.

•75 percent of teens say the current economic crisis would have future negative impact on them and their families.

•30 percent know someone who either lost their home or is going through a foreclosure.
