FOREST LAKE, Minn. — A student leaving summer school classes in Forest Lake has died after she was hit by a car while crossing a highway.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 18-year-old Catherine Loahr was killed Monday afternoon near Century Junior High School. Authorities say she was crossing Highway 97 at an intersection near the school when she was hit by an SUV.
The patrol says the SUV driver is a 65-year-old Forest Lake woman, who was not injured.
