Charges were filed this week against a 17-year-old who authorities say broke into a couple's home in Ham Lake and was later arrested when they spotted a stolen item on Craigslist.

The Anoka County attorney's office filed a petition to certify Brendon Crayford of Andover to stand trial as an adult. He was charged on Thursday with four felony counts of burglary, aggravated robbery, receiving stolen property and a minor in possession of a firearm.

The complaint alleges that Crayford broke into the couple's home on May 17 and rummaged through several rooms before awakening them in their bed at gunpoint and demanding money.

Items taken included cash from a purse, several cameras, a computer, watch, sunglasses and a cellphone. A week later, the couple saw one of the cameras advertised on Craigs-list and called police, the complaint said. An officer posed as a buyer and met Crayford at a fast-food restaurant.

He was arrested and police found an unloaded gun in his car, document said. In custody, he told police he broke into the couple's home and stole several items, according to the complaint.
