Taylor Swift tickets: Strike 2, 3, 4 & 5

Today's general on-sale seemed as futile as the fanclub pre-sale. Scalpers win again.

***UPDATE: An Xcel Energy Center rep confirmed that tickets "went very quickly," but there are still "scattered single tickets" available to both shows. So if you don't mind sending your 10-year-old to a concert by herself... Also, she confirmed what was suggested in the comments section: People who showed up to buy tickets in person had better luck. About 100 people were in line at the arena this morning, and they all got seats. So if you don't have a day job...

I and several people I know tried again to nab a couple tickets to Taylor Swift's June 14-15 shows at Xcel Energy Center this morning at 10 a.m., when the general on-sale arrived. As sure as another tabloid sighting of Taylor with a famous, short-lived boyfriend, though, we all came up short. Repeat attempts did no good, either. That's after the fanclub pre-sale also proved futile Tuesday morning, though quite a few readers said in the comments section that they landed tickets through the American Express pre-sale code. I'm awaiting official word from Xcel Center on how quickly the shows sold out, but a rep could only say for now "the dust is settling."

The addition of a second concert this time around did not appear to change the playing field at all. It's no surprise, really, since the "resale industry" (a k a scalpers) can do their damage as easily with two shows as they can one. Tickets are already being sold in great quantities all over Craigslist, eBay, Stubhub, etc. In fact, there are so many seats available already, one can't help but wonder (hope) that the resale market might go bust this time.
