A tanker truck has rolled while heading south on Hwy. 47, or University Avenue, at the ramp to eastbound Interstate 694 — blocking access to the freeway and causing traffic to back up in Fridley.

Access to eastbound I-694 from northbound Hwy. 47 is expected to be shut down for about three hours, until roughly 9 p.m., said Kent Barnard of the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

"He tipped it over right at the base of the ramp," Barnard said.

There were no injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol, which also said the tanker was hauling water.

In other traffic news, drivers will encounter two loop closures at the interchange of Interstate 35W and westbound I-694 in Arden Hills and New Brighton overnight Tuesday.

The loop from westbound I-694 to southbound I-35W and the loop from northbound I-35W to westbound I-694 will close at 7 p.m. Tuesday and reopen by 5 a.m. Wednesday, Barnard said.

The right lane of westbound I-694 will be closed at the same time as well.

Crews are placing a protective sealant on the westbound bridge deck over I-35W. Drivers should use alternate routes.
