Talk of the Stacks, the popular lecture series at the Minneapolis downtown library, has announced its spring lineup. Speakers include writers, editors and critics -- the trifecta of the world of books.

•March 10: David Plotz, editor of slate.com and a contributing writer to the New York Times Magazine, Harper's and Rolling Stone. His new book is "Good Book: The Bizarre, Hilarious, Disturbing, Marvelous and Inspiring Things I Learned When I Read Every Single Word of the Bible."

•April 21: Laurie Hertzel, books editor of the Star Tribune, and Mary Ann Grossmann, books editor of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Their talk on the world of newspaper book coverage and criticism will be moderated by Cathy Wurzer of Minnesota Public Radio.

•April 28: Tom Robbins, author of short stories, novels, poetry and essays, including "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" and "Skinny Legs and All." His newest book is "B is for Beer."

•May 7: David Rhodes, at left, author of "The Last Fair Deal Going Down," and "Rock Island Line." His latest novel, "Driftless," was published last fall by Milkweed Editions.

•May 21: Arthur Phillips, with musical guests Scrapomatic. Phillips was born in Minneapolis. His novel, "Prague," was translated into more than a dozen languages. His latest book is "The Song is You."

All talks are free and begin at 7 p.m. in Pohlad Hall of Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis.
