A two-vehicle crash in northwestern Minnesota killed an SUV driver and injured three people from out of state in a car, authorities said.

The collision occurred about noon Sunday at an intersection roughly 6 miles east of Ulen and just west of the White Earth Reservation, according to the Becker County Sheriff's Office.

Emergency responders declared Todd G. Mikulecky, 68, of nearby Hawley, dead at the scene, the Sheriff's Office said.

In the car were Raluca M. Greynald-Basquez, 42, of Thousands Oaks, Calif.; Shelby M. Record, 50, of Rockwall, Texas; and Lena M. Broussard, 49, of the Dallas area.

The Sheriff's Office said the three were all expected to survive what were described as serious injuries.

Authorities have yet to reveal any details about circumstances leading to the collision.
