Two juveniles were cited Wednesday for criminal damage to property in connection with a vandalism spree that damaged a city park in Hopkins last month, police said.

The two juveniles, whose names and ages were not disclosed, painted profanities on park sidewalks, playground equipment and a building at Cottageville Park at 415 Blake Road, police said.

The damage was reported on March 25 and was subsequently cleaned up by the city's Public Works Department.

The city assessed the damages at $400 to $500, said Sgt. Mike Glassberg of the Hopkins Police Department.

Hopkins police had offered a $500 reward for information leading to those responsible for damaging the property.

Tips from the public led them to the two juveniles, Glassberg said.

The juveniles will appear in court at a later date, Glassberg said.
