St. Paul police have arrested a suspect in the Sunday evening homicide in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood.

The 37-year-old St. Paul man has not yet been charged, but police spokesman Sgt. Mike Ernster said authorities were not looking for anyone else. "At this time, we are focusing on the person we have in custody," he said.

The suspect was arrested Sunday about 8 p.m., according to the Ramsey County jail log. His home address is the site of Sunday's homicide.

Authorities have not identified the victim, aside from saying that he is a man. Police are investigating the relationship between the suspect and victim, Ernster said.

Police found the victim after responding to a call about an assault in the 500 block of Aldine Street N. about 8 p.m. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the motive is under investigation. They declined to say how the victim died, and whether any weapons were found.

The homicide does not appear related to the city's last two killings, which remain unsolved, Ernster said.
