Three observations ... • Nice move by MLB to not stand in the way of the Marlins signing Adam Greenberg for a day. Greenberg, seven years ago while with the Cubs, was beaned in a game against Florida in his only plate appearance and hasn't played in the majors since.

• The Twins get unfairly blamed for letting go of a bunch of pitchers who have thrived elsewhere. But if there's one they probably gave up on a little too soon it's knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, who on Thursday won his 20th game.

• It's a big week for the Twins, as they battle Cleveland, Toronto and Miami for the fourth pick in the 2013 draft.

... and two predictions • Joe Mauer will win his fourth American League batting title because he's motivated and should have favorable pitching matchups this week in Toronto.

• And since Melky Cabrera has taken his tainted bat out of the running, Buster Posey will win the NL batting title as catchers corner the market.
