I'll leave it to the Travel section to help you plan your summer vacation. The sports geniuses can help you pick the best dates to hit Target Field. My job: Letting you know how to fill those nights when it's too rainy -- or you're too sunburned -- to brave the elements.

Here are the series and specials we're looking forward to most.

New series

"Love Bites" Reboard the Love Boat -- or the closest thing TV has to it. In this anthology series, guest stars including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Craig Robinson and Charlyne Yi search for romance. Premieres 9 p.m. Thursday, KARE, Ch. 11 (NBC)

"Teen Wolf" Russell Mulcahy, director of Duran Duran's "Hungry Like a Wolf" video, gets back into the canine business in this darker version of the Michael J. Fox movie. June 5, MTV

"Fallen Skies" The war of the worlds escalates as executive producer Steven Spielberg further explores his fascination with aliens. Noah Wyle and Moon Bloodgood star as earthlings trying to curtail a full invasion from outer space. June 19, TNT

"The Protector" Ally Walker ("Profiler") plays a homicide detective who's also the mother of two boys. It's unclear which job is more precarious. June 12, Lifetime

"The Nine Lives of Chloe King" A teenager suddenly discovers she's part of an ancient race being hunted by assassins. At least she's not like every other TV girl and being chased by vampires. June 14, ABC Family

"Happily Divorced" Fran Drescher returns as a florist who finds out her longtime husband is gay. Imagine that: A gay man in love with Fran Drescher. June 15, TV Land

"Suits" A hotshot Manhattan attorney and a street-smart college dropout team up to fight crime. I wonder if they wear capes? June 23, USA

"Wilfred" Elijah Wood may need a psychiatrist more than a precious ring when he starts seeing his neighbor's dog as a fully grown man in a hairy costume. June 23, FX

Returning favorites

"Weeds" and "The Big C" Mary-Louise Parker battles law enforcement while Laura Linney battles cancer in the best one-two punch on television. Premieres June 27, Showtime

"Poirot" and "Miss Marple" Agatha Christie's famed sleuths are back on the beat in four separate cases as part of PBS' "Masterpiece Mystery!" Spoiler alert: The butler doesn't always do it. "Poirot" June 19 & 26 & July 3; "Marple" July 10

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" Mayor Michael Bloomberg may be able to ban outdoor smoking, but he can't stop Larry David from invading New York City. Ricky Gervais is among the rumored guest stars. July 10, HBO

"Rescue Me" The final nine episodes spool out, appropriately enough, just before the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Co-creator Denis Leary has promised a shocking ending that rivals the last scene of "The Sopranos." July 12, FX

"Entourage" Vincent Chase has only eight episodes to get his act together before the show goes off the air. Christian Slater, Johnny Galecki and A-Rod all make appearances. July 24, HBO

Award shows

"2011 MTV Movie Awards" "Saturday Night Live" regular Jason Sudeikis hosts, despite the fact that no one can recall a movie he's been in. Foo Fighters are among the entertainment. June 5, MTV

"Guys Choice" This macho-leaning awards show honors Jennifer Aniston for "a decade of hotness." In exchange, Aniston officially apologizes for "The Bounty Hunter." June 10, Spike

"The 65th Annual Tony Awards" Neil Patrick Harris suits up again to host Broadway's annual tribute, with all eyes on "The Book of Mormon." June 12, WCCO, Ch. 4 (CBS)

Reality TV

"Ryan & Tatum: The O'Neals" Daughter tries to reconcile with father. Father tries to pick up daughter's friends. June 19, OWN

"Same Name" Celebrities swap lifestyles with ordinary folks who have the same name. Awkwardness sets in when Chuck Sheen of Milwaukee refuses to participate. July 24, WCCO, Ch. 4 (CBS)

"Take the Money and Run" Contestants criss-cross the world trying to avoid real-life law enforcers. Osama bin Laden's Pakistani hideout is considered off-limits. Aug. 2, KSTP, Ch. 5 (ABC)
