Suggestions for a happier sex life

• See your doctor. He or she can rule out potential medical problems and assess whether your medications, or habits, are getting in the way of good sex.

• Consider therapy, either with your significant other, or alone. Your body may not be cooperating because you're feeling angry or alone. You owe it to yourself and your partner to find out.

• Yank your expectations into the reasonable range. Sex, for most people, is not an extreme sport. That's especially true for new parents. Focus on pleasure, not performance.

• Assess any porn usage. If it's becoming a substitute for real intimacy with the living, breathing person nearby, you probably need to back off.
