Accessory to spring On Saturday, Parc Boutique (328 Hennepin Av., Mpls., 612-353-4966, www.parcboutique.com) is hosting its first local jewelry designer spring trunk show. Six local designers will be participating, including Helen Wang Jewelry and Candied Yams Jewelry (noon to 2 p.m.), M. Bridget Designs and Kim-Anh Tong Jewelry (2 to 4 p.m.) and Liebling Designs and Twilight Soaps & Gifts (4 to 6 p.m.). Here's a preview of what you'll find.

Liebling Designs

Designed by: Jessica Cripps

Inspiration: "I generally pull from nature and vintage fashion. Flowers and bright, contrasting colors inspire me," she said.

Prices: $18 to $100

Kim-Anh Tong Jewelry

Inspiration: "I've always been a magpie, attracted to sparkly, colorful gemstones and vintage crystals. But I couldn't resist taking my jewelry apart, especially the vintage pieces, and remaking them into one-of-a-kind designs," she said.

Prices: $18 to $150

Candied Yams

Designed by: Marlene Aponte

Inspiration: "I am often inspired by my family, life experiences and nature. The name, like the food, represents homemade jewelry with a sweet style," she said.

Prices: $10 to $40

Sales and events The Mix Home and Fashion Outlet (4907 Excelsior Blvd., St. Louis Park, 952-285-8050) is closing the fashion side that currently carries clothing, handbags and accessories so that owner Jeanette Elasky can focus on discounted furniture. To move as much merchandise as possible the end of the month, she has marked down almost everything in the store to $5, $10, $15 and $20. Earrings that were $17 to $20 are now $2 or $3. If you buy in bulk, you might be able to bargain even more. She has quite a bit left, so the store might be open into March, so check back or call.

Here comes the Goodwill Bridal Showcase (553 Fairview Av. N., St. Paul). On Friday night (6 to 9 p.m.), brides-to-be can pay $25 per ticket ($40 for two) to have first dibs on more than 1,000 bridal gowns and bridesmaid, mother-of-the-bride and flower girl dresses, and enjoy appetizers and refreshments. The event opens to the public (for free) on Saturday (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.). You'll find wedding gowns starting at $99, including gently used and bridal store samples and accessories (veils and slips), for up to 90 percent off retail prices. Items will be restocked at noon. Note: Dressing rooms are shared, so undergarments are recommended.
