Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, Grammy winning musician and, now, author, will be streaming live at the public library later this month.

His first book, "Decoded," will be published Nov. 16. It's memoiristic, filled with rhymes and stories and also decodes 36 of his songs. He'll be in conversation with writer Cornel West at the New York Public Library on Nov. 15, and the event will stream live at 6 p.m. in the Pohlad Theater at the Central Library on the Nicollet Mall.

A limited number of autographed copies of "Decoded" will be available for purchase. You can reserve a book for $37 by going to www.supporthclib.org or www.magersandquinn.com. Reserved books can be picked up at the door and will also reserve your seat for the Nov. 15 event.

A portion of all book sales will go to support the Library Foundation of Hennepin County.
