Stewart Mills announced last evening he is forming an exploratory committee for a possible rematch against Democrat Rep. Rick Nolan in Minnesota's Eighth Congressional in 2016.

Nolan defeated Mills by less than 4,000 votes in one of the most hotly contested congressional races in 2014.

Reached for a comment last evening, Mills said he is forming "an exploratory committe with an eye to a possible mid-October announcement if everthing comes together."

Mills announced his decision at a dinner hosted by the Eighth Congressional Republican Party in Duluth.

Nolan announced in July he would seek re-election to a third term in 2016.
