PASADENA, Calif. — The Starz cable network will televise the BBC's adaptation of the 1980 play "The Dresser" starring Anthony Hopkins and Ian McKellen.
The semi-autobiographical play by Ronald Harwood is inspired by his experiences working with British actor Donald Wolfit in London during World War II.
The production marks the first time the two veteran actors have worked together.
The BBC announced plans for the film last year, and it will be made later in 2015.
Starz said Friday that it has acquired the rights to televise the production outside of Britain.
