FIRST TEAM

TRE JONES

Apple Valley, 6-3, sr. guard

Like most metro area coaches, Prior Lake's Bob Schweim is eager to see Jones head off to college. "Coaching against Tre is a nightmare," Schweim said. "Just when you think you have Apple Valley, he turns it on and gets steals, assists, rebounds, blocks, free throws … whatever the team needs to win. One of the best ever out of Minnesota." (College: Duke)

GABE KALSCHEUR

DeLaSalle, 6-4, sr. guard

The shooting guard has gotten better as the season progressed and enters the state tournament averaging 30.5 points per game over the Islanders' past six games. Had a season-high 38 in a come-from-behind 80-78 victory over Orono in the section finals. (College: Minnesota)

JARVIS THOMAS OMERSA

Orono, 6-8, sr. forward

A rare specimen with incredible energy. The state's best athlete can run the floor, has great vertical jump and has immensely improved his ballhandling skills. He averaged a double-double (18.4 points and 11.4 rebounds). (College: Minnesota)

DANIEL OTURU

Cretin-Derham Hall,

6-10, sr. center

An outstanding shot blocker who brings an intimidating presence to the paint. Averaging 21.4 points, 11.6 rebounds and 6 blocks. "He can dominate a game on both ends of the court," Eden Prairie coach David Flom said. (College: Minnesota)

JALEN SUGGS

Minnehaha Academy,

6-5, soph. guard

A mentally tough athlete and good decision maker. Averaging 14.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.4 steals. "He plays with passion and a competitive spirit that not many players possess," Redhawks coach Lance Johnson said. (College: Undecided)
