Police on Monday identified a woman whose body was found wrapped in a blanket Saturday night in St. Paul.

Rahel Nigusse, 39, was found by a passerby about 9 p.m. in a wooded area along the 1400 block of Minnehaha Avenue E. A 64-year-old man has been arrested in connection with her death and is in custody at the Ramsey County jail.

The suspect lives on the block where Nigusse's body was found, according to jail records.

Police say the cause of death has not been determined "as of yet." However, the suspect was booked into the jail on suspicion of murder early Monday morning.

Sgt. Paul Paulos, a police spokesman, said the man and Nigusse were "acquaintances." He would not provide other details of their relationship, or what makes the man a suspect, saying the case is still under investigation.

Paulos said the man was arrested "without incident."

The criminal history for the man being held includes three convictions for theft, and one each for violation of an order for protection and disorderly conduct, according to court records.
