St. Paul police have arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with the death of his wife last week.

Police were called to a home in the 700 block of Rose Avenue E. on the city's East Side just after 3 a.m. May 12. When officers arrived, they found a 41-year-old woman being transported by paramedics to Regions Hospital with a head injury. The woman died three days later.

On Monday, authorities arrested her husband on suspicion of murder, said police spokesman Steve Linders. The man has not been charged in the case, however, and the investigation is continuing, Linders said.

Linders provided no information about how the woman died or why the husband is a suspect, saying only that the death is "suspicious."
